GOVINDA’S PHOENIX DURBAN
Govinda’s vegetarian restaurants are known worldwide for their delicious and nutritious vegetarian food. We invite you to visit one of our Phoenix Durban restaurants and see for yourself how delicious vegetarian food can actually be.
Our aim is to provide fresh, nutritious meals at affordable prices. We serve a wide variety of pure vegetarian cuisine which is freshly cooked on the premises throughout the day. All of our products are meat, fish and egg freewith many dishes suitable for vegans too. We do not use onions, garlic or mushrooms. When you walk into the restaurant , you are amidst an oasis of tranquility, health and balance.
We are yet to come across someone who has been able to resist the lure of the sweet dish counter! We have a selection of English treats such as home-made ice cream, cheesecakes and gateaux or try traditional Indian items such as sweet rice, laddhu (gram flour sweets) and barfis (condensed milk balls).
Karma Free Diet
Our restaurant also has an additional unique feature: all our preparations are first offered to Lord Krishna before being served and are thus called prasadam which means the Mercy of God. Dine in Govinda´s for a truly blessed andkarma-free experience!
Take a piece of mercy with you
All of our menu items are available as take-away, so even if you are in a rush or have just popped out from the office to grab a bite, you can experience the mercy of Lord Krishna!

SUNDAY LOVE FEAST PROGRAM AT NEW JAGANNTH PURI TEMPLE PHOENIX DURBAN EVERY SUNDAY:
Join us for the Sunday love feast at the NEW JAGGANATH PURI temple premises from 11 AM onwards.
WHAT IS LOVE FEAST:
The Founder Acarya of the Hare Krishna Movement, Srila Prabhupada started the “Sunday Love-Feast” Festival in the Western world. He would personally invite guests, cook entire meal. He would serve the devotees a variety of tasty Indian-vegetarian preparations. Along with the vegetarian feast, Srila Prabhupada would sing the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra with the guests, dance and give a lecture on Bhagavad-gita.
Since then, this weekly Sunday Love Feast Festival is celebrated in all the Hare Krishna Temples around the world. We extend a warm and hearty welcome to you, your friends and family. Please join us at Hare Krishna Temple with your family and friends and enjoy the atmosphere in the association of people interested in genuine spirituality and a meaningful life. Chant and dance with us, hear what Lord Krishna speaks in Bhagavad-Gita, ask questions about the philosophy and the devotional lifestyle, and taste the delicious vegetarian feast!
Furthermore, to feed devotees sumptuous prasadam is an auspicious activity. If you would like to sponsor a Sunday Feast, to commemorate a special occasion or just in general, please contact the Hare Krishna Temple for further information.
